Our Commitment
to Ethical Breeding
At Little Bear Paws, our passion for dogs and commitment to ethical breeding practices sets us apart. Our approach is rooted in love, science, and a deep responsibility towards the well-being of our puppies and their parents. Here's how we ensure that every puppy we bring into the world receives the best start in life, and why our practices are considered the gold standard in breeding.
Puppy Culture and Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
From the moment our puppies are born, they are raised using the Puppy Culture method and Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS). These practices are designed to create well-adjusted, confident, and social puppies.
-
Puppy Culture: This is a comprehensive program that emphasizes early socialization, positive reinforcement training, and problem-solving. Through this method, our puppies are exposed to various stimuli, sounds, and experiences, ensuring they grow up to be adaptable and intelligent dogs.
-
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS): ENS is a series of gentle exercises performed in the early days of a puppy's life. This scientifically backed method enhances their neurological growth, resulting in improved cardiovascular performance, stronger heartbeats, more robust adrenal glands, greater resistance to stress, and greater resistance to disease.
Why We Wait Until 10-12 Weeks to Home Our Puppies
Our puppies remain with their littermates and mother until they are 10-12 weeks old. This extended period allows them to learn important social skills and receive all necessary vaccinations. Early experiences in life set the stage for a puppy's long-term behavior and health, which is why we give them the time they need to develop properly before joining their forever families.
Health and Temperament Screenings, and Genetic Testing
We conduct thorough health and temperament screenings, as well as genetic testing on our breeding stock, to ensure our puppies are not only physically healthy but also a joy to be around.
-
Health and Temperament Screenings: Our puppies undergo comprehensive evaluations to ensure they are healthy and display the desirable traits of the Aussiedoodle breed.
-
Genetic Testing: We perform genetic testing to identify and prevent the transmission of potential hereditary conditions, ensuring a healthier future for your puppy.
Our Guardian Home Program
In many breeding facilities, breeding stock spend much of their time living in a kennel. We believe every breeding dog deserves to live as a beloved family pet. That's why we place breeding dogs in guardian homes, where they enjoy a normal, happy life with their own family. This practice is central to our ethical breeding philosophy, ensuring our dogs are cherished members of a family, not just breeding animals.
Treating Our Breeding Stock with Care
Our breeding dogs start their breeding careers at an appropriate age to ensure their maturity and health. We only breed healthy dogs, do so less frequently than many other breeders, and retire them at a younger age to live out their days as pampered pets. This approach reflects our deep respect and love for our dogs, prioritizing their well-being above all else.
Why Choose Us
Choosing Little Bear Paws means supporting a breeder who values the physical and emotional health of their dogs, employs science-backed methods to raise their puppies, and operates with integrity and compassion. Our breeding program is special because it's built on a foundation of ethical practices that prioritize the well-being of our dogs and the happiness of the families they join.
Join us in embracing a standard of breeding that's not only about creating beautiful puppies but also about ensuring they lead happy, healthy lives from the start.
